About the Role
Key Responsibilities
Individual Support
Provide direct support to individuals according to their Individual Support Plan (ISP)
Assist individuals in developing life skills that promote independence
Support personal goals related to community participation, communication, and daily living
Daily Living Assistance
Assist with activities of daily living such as:
Meal preparation
Household tasks
Personal organization
Hygiene reminders and support
Promote safe and healthy living environments
Community Integration
Support individuals during community outings and activities
Encourage social interaction and participation in community programs
Assist with transportation training and public engagement when appropriate
Companionship & Engagement
Build trusting, respectful relationships with individuals served
Encourage positive communication and emotional well-being
Provide companionship and structured activities
Documentation
Complete required documentation including daily notes and incident reports
Maintain accurate records in compliance with program regulations
Communicate important updates to supervisors and care teams
Health & Safety
Monitor the health and safety of individuals served
Follow all safety policies and procedures
Report concerns, incidents, or changes in condition immediately
Requirements
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum age of 18 years
Valid Driver’s License (preferred)
Ability to pass:
Criminal Background Check
Child Abuse Clearance
FBI Fingerprinting (if required)
Ability to complete required training
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
Previous experience in caregiving, human services, or healthcare
CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
